Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko inherited a very talented roster ahead of his inaugural season. Still, one position group that posed some concern due to depth issues has taken center stage this fall, as A&M's wide receiver corps is relatively unproven after several offseason departures.

New offensive coordinator Collin Klein, who, alongside Elko and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman, spoke to the local Aggie media on Tuesday, is much higher on the wide receiver room, mainly due to junior Noah Thomas's ascending leadership and elite skillset.

"Noah (Thomas) has done a tremendous job. He is a fierce competitor. He studies the game, and it allows us a lot of flexibility. We will be able to move him all over the field."

"He will be a big-time player for us, for sure."

Joining presumed starters Moose Muhammad III and Jahdae Walker, all three players are familiar with starting quarterback Conner Weigman's play style. However, outside of Walker's late-season production with former quarterback Max Johnson, this rotation is still in a "prove it" mode once the season begins.

Taking it from the man who oversees the room aside from WR coach Holmon Wiggins, Klein feels that once the wide receiver rotations collectively master the mental and situational aspects of the position, the sky is truly the limit.

"We have some really good weapons. We can be aggressive, mentally."

"It's continuing to work on the mentality of how we play... Coach Elko does as good of a job as anyone of setting the stage and teaching situational football."

While the starting rotation is better known to most Aggie fans, the depth chart is deeper than some may know. Transfers Cyrus Allen and Jacob Bostick join freshmen Izaiah Williams and Ashton Bethel-Roman, providing plenty of depth for Weigman when the rotation will need to be utilized.
