$85 million of Lionel Messi-branded cocaine seized in Peru; none for Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo seems doomed to forever be remembered as the second-best player in Spain during his prime, as the second-best player of his era and as the second-best player ever.
That darned Lionel Messi is always just a little bit better, a little quicker to a milestone, a little more appreciated and a little more decorated.

And now he’s got CR7 beat to the first major drug bust unofficially branded in his name. On Thursday, some $85 million worth of Messi-branded cocaine – with pictures of his face and logo on the packaging – were seized in Lima, Peru.
In this latest blow – get it? – to Ronaldo’s ego, even South America’s underworld seems to be giving the little Argentine the edge.
Of the 3,124-pound bust, most packages carried Messi’s face and branding logo.

It’s apparently customary for big-time drug dealers to brand their drugs with logos of respected people or entities in an attempt to imbue the product with an air of quality through the transitive powers of a good reputation.
So, Ronaldo … the ball’s in your court?
