The 1-7 Carolina Panthers did the inevitable on Tuesday, shipping away wide receiver Diontae Johnson ahead of next week's trade deadline. Johnson, who was on an expiring contract, now heads to the Baltimore Ravens in a deal involving a late-round pick swap in 2025 and some decent financial support from the Panthers themselves.

Shortly after the move, FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the team is not looking to offload a few other notable players—specifically running back Chuba Hubbard and cornerback Jaycee Horn. He also noted that a source believes the organization is not in fire-sale mode.

But what if Johnson isn't the only domino that'll fall in Carolina?

If so, here are five Panthers who could garner trade interest over the next few days:

QB Bryce Young

Young did fairly well in his return to the starting lineup in Week 8. In fact, his 224 net passing yards were the most by a quarterback against the Denver Broncos defense this season.

But head coach Dave Canales' silence on a possible move of Young, as well as the trade of Johnson, could speak volumes. Canales, who shot down speculation about dealing away the 23-year-old passer on Sept. 18, shied away from shooting it down again on Monday.

Selling off last year's No. 1 overall pick for pennies on the dollar instead of giving him another fair chance seems a bit unwise. If the Panthers really are done with Young, however, they could just look to cut ties soon.

RB Miles Sanders

Sanders hardly has a role now, with Chuba Hubbard leading the way out of Carolina's backfield as the NFL's fifth-leading rusher. So what'll happen to him when second-round pick Jonathon Brooks makes his return to the field?

Tuesday's move away from Johnson might've given us an indicator that the organization is even more focused on evaluating their roster for the future. The Panthers would probably have a hard time finding a buyer on Sanders and his contract, but they'll definitely want to find some playing time for Brooks if he's good to go.

WR Adam Thielen

There should be at least a handful of contenders who could use Thielen's services down the stretch. The Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans—who just lost Stefon Diggs for the season—are a few that immediately come to mind.

But we must consider two important factors. Is that hamstring injury a potential dealbreaker and would the Panthers prefer to keep the well-respected veteran around to help the development of their youngsters?

WR Jonathan Mingo

If Carolina plans on keeping Thielen, where does that leave Mingo? He has already lost looks to rookies Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker, and has recorded just one catch for one yard over the last three outings combined.

Maybe another team thinks they can ignite the raw 23-year-old. And as crazy as it sounds, the 2023 second-round pick probably wouldn't cost much.

OLB Jadeveon Clowney

Carolina, more than any other spot on the field, can't afford another loss off the edge—let alone a loss of their best pass rusher. They're tied for the second-fewest sacks through Week 8 (nine) and have been cycling through practice-squad players and free agents at the outside linebacker position.

But it's that position that has always commanded a ton of attention when the deadline rolls around. If the Panthers get an enticing enough offer from a team looking to stack up their defense, could they pull the trigger?
