49ers star limited by calf, Achilles injuries in 1st practice
After missing most of training camp and all of the preseason, the All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey will make his highly-anticipated return to practice on Thursday, just five days out from the San Francisco 49ers' regular-season opener against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.
However, his return won't be at 100%. Prior to Thursday's practice in Santa Clara, the 49ers released their practice injury report with McCaffrey listed as limited due to calf and Achilles ailments.
