As the world awaits a move involving Brandon Aiyuk, the San Francisco 49ers are making other changes at wide receiver. On Wednesday, the team announced it has waived rookie Terique Owens, the son of 49ers legend Terrell Owens.

Owens is a rookie out of Missouri State, joining the 49ers as an undrafted free agent this year. In his college career, he caught 61 passes for 1,071 yards and six touchdowns. Unless San Francisco brings him back at some point in the next three weeks, he won’t be on the team’s 53-man roster but he could land elsewhere through the waiver wire.

In addition to Owens, the 49ers also waived safety Erik Harris. To take the two roster spots, they signed running back Ke’shawn Vaughn and wide receiver Jontre Kirklin.
