4 upcoming decision times to know for Missouri football Class of 2025 targets

Maybe keep some fireworks on hand, just in case.

Missouri football is rounding out its recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, and the next week could bring the Tigers close to completing its next crew.

Four Mizzou targets are set to announce their collegiate decisions in the next seven days, including a pair of four-star wide receivers and a blue chip safety.

The Tigers currently have 12 players committed to their Class of 2025. The ball got rolling on this cycle with top-ranked, Pennsylvania-based quarterback Matt Zollers — a four- or five-star prospect depending on your choice of recruiting service — back in April. Since then, the numbers have started to roll in … and from all over.

Three players from inside the Missouri state line are on board, including the top overall recruit — four-star offensive tackle Jack Lange out of Eureka — and two more players ranked among the Show-Me State’s top-15 players. Mizzou has secured verbal commitments from players from eight different states and has gone toe-to-toe with some blue bloods to get them.

All told, the Tigers currently hold the No. 35 class in the nation and the No. 12 class in the expanded, 16-team SEC, per the recruiting service 247Sports.

Depending on how the next week goes, that could be in for a significant jump.

Here are four players who will announce their collegiate destinations between Thursday, July 4, and Wednesday, July 10. All recruiting rankings, unless otherwise specified, come from 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Jayvan Boggs, wide receiver

Commitment time: 5 p.m. CT Thursday, July 4

Recruiting ranking: No. 211 national; No. 24 wide receiver

While the brats are grilling and the first sparklers begin sizzling on the Fourth, it may behoove Missouri fans to politely excuse themselves from the Independence Day festivities for a moment at 5 p.m. and pull up Jayvan Boggs’ live commitment stream with the recruiting service Rivals.

After missing out on in-state four-star wideout Corey Simms on Sunday, a stream of recruiting-insider predictions seem to indicate the Tigers are not going to watch two playmakers pass them by in the space of a week.

Between Rivals and On3, all three publishers who have logged predictions currently have Boggs landing with MU.

Boggs was formerly an Ohio State commit, but reopened his recruiting in March. He took official visits to Mizzou, UCF, Georgia and USC but has since narrowed down his list of potential destinations to just Missouri and UCF, which is nearby his high school.

Missouri currently has just one wide receiver committed to its Class of 2025: three-star Ironton, Ohio, native Shaun Terry.

Donovan Olugbode, wide receiver

Commitment time: 3 p.m. CT Friday, July 5

Recruiting rankings: No. 86 national; No. 11 wide receiver

The four-star wide receiver originally out of Naperville, Illinois, now plays his high school football on a national schedule with IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. And Olugbode, like Boggs, has picked up some predictions from recruiting analysts that favor Drinkwitz’s Tigers.

Between the three major recruiting services, all six publishers who have made a call have predicted that Olugbode will land in Missouri.

This has the potential to be one of the highlights of this recruiting class for Mizzou, should Olugbode pledge to play in Columbia. USC, Washington, Oregon and Florida all are in the mix for the top-100 prospect.

There’s a chance for Missouri, and its future gunslinger Zollers, to bag a pair of playmakers on back-to-back days. Olugbode will announce his commitment live with 247Sports.

Keiton Jones, offensive lineman

Commitment time: 3 p.m. CT Sunday, July 7

Recruiting rankings: No. 545 national; No. 35 Interior offensive lineman

Keiton Jones, a Coffeyville, Kansas, native, is seemingly down to three schools, all regional. Missouri will duke it out with Kansas State and Arkansas to the finishing line for the 6-foot-4, 315-pound interior offensive lineman.

Missouri is still in the mix for four-star offensive lineman Lamont Rogers, who has a commitment date expected some time this month. But that appears to be trending away from the Tigers.

The Tigers have in-state Lange and three-star Fort Worth, Texas, product Henry Fenuku committed along the O-Line. Three On3 forecasters and one Rivals publisher have logged predictions — there are currently no prognostications going any other way — that Jones will join them in Columbia next year.

Charles Bass, safety

Commitment time: TBA Wednesday, July 10

Recruiting rankings (Rivals): No. 97 national; No. 9 safety

The Tribune used Rivals’ rankings for Bass’ position, as 247Sports still has him listed as an athlete although it is likely he is being recruited specifically as a safety.

Either way, this appears to be among the more positive signs for MU. It’s a regional battle for Bass’ commitment, as Mizzou is joined by Arkansas, Illinois and Kansas State. The in-state Illini appear to be the main contender for the 6-1 defensive back out of East St. Louis, but most predictions have Mizzou as the leader.

Bass could become the latest to come down the East St. Louis High-to-Missouri pipeline, with wide receivers Luther Burden III and the now-Georgia Bulldog Dominic Lovett each committing to the Tigers out of high school, and cornerback Toriano Pride Jr. transferring to the Tigers from Clemson this offseason.
