4 teams that could have trade interest in Panthers QB Bryce Young
Let's start this "hypothetical" by stating that the Carolina Panthers are probably better off holding on to second-year quarterback Bryce Young for now. But when asked about the possibility of trading last year's No. 1 overall pick on Monday, head coach Dave Canales didn't exactly rule it out.
So if the organization makes the bold decision to move on from the 23-year-old by the Nov. 5 trade deadline, here are four teams that just might have some interest:
New York Jets
You didn't see this one coming right away, did you?
The Jets have put all of their eggs in the basket of a 40-year-old quarterback who sustained an Achilles tear last season. And that basket isn't holding like it used to, as New York sits at a disappointing 2-5 mark with an interim head coach at the helm.
So, what happens for them in the life after Aaron Rodgers? Perhaps it's Young, who has received some high praise from the four-time Most Valuable Player himself.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks are facing a similar situation with veteran Geno Smith, who will be a free agent at 36 years old in 2026. Young, like he would with Rodgers, can sit behind Smith for a bit and learn from one of the most savvy passers in the game.
Carolina's ties to Seattle may interesting here, too. General manager Dan Morgan, who helped draft Young, spent eight years in the Seahawks' front office. So would their brass also have high hopes for Bryce?
Las Vegas Raiders
Well, the Raiders seemingly had some high hopes for Young last spring. According to FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer, Las Vegas reportedly made an attempt to trade up to 2023's No. 1 overall pick to nab the University of Alabama star.
Their quarterback situation remains unsolved, as they've alternated between Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell this season.
Los Angeles Rams
Of all the potential landing spots, Los Angeles may be the best fit for Young.
His game could match up rather well under offensive genius Sean McVay and it could get some extra seasoning under the wing of 36-year-old Matthew Stafford, who has two campaigns remaining on his deal. Young—who grew up in Pasadena and played his high school ball in L.A. and Santa Ana—might enjoy some home cooking as well.
