The Major League Baseball playoffs await the Cleveland Guardians.

They clinched their spot in the postseason by defeating the Twins 3-2 in 10 innings on Thursday afternoon.

Now the Guardians will look to lock up the American League Central Division title and see if they can beat out the New York Yankees for the AL's best record and the top seed in the playoff bracket.

When does the MLB postseason start?

The MLB regular season ends Sunday, Sept. 29. The postseason begins with the Wild Card Series on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

When will the Guardians play in the playoffs?

The AL Wild Card series are Oct. 1-3. Barring a collapse over their final eight games, the Guardians will avoid that best-of-three round of the playoffs.

If the Guardians go on to win the Central Division and remain one of the top two seeds in the AL, they will receive a bye into the AL Division Series. The ALDS begins Saturday, Oct. 5 with the top two seeds each hosting Game 1s in their respective series.
