Russell Wilson came to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason with a chance to revive his career.

The 13-year veteran followed up his uninspiring final season with the Seattle Seahawks with two mediocre years in Denver, not helped by poor coaching and the Broncos' horrible defensive performances.

One question that Wilson will need to answer early is: Does he still have it?

"Can he recapture his old self with [the Steelers]?" former Cincinnati Bengals receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh posed on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd."

"Russell Wilson didn't play bad last year, but the year prior with [Nathaniel] Hackett, he was awful. So now it's can Russell play? Was it Pete Carroll, the system, or that defense that really made Russell Wilson look better [in Seattle]?"

The Seahawks were among the best defensive units in the NFL during Wilson's first five seasons, which featured back-to-back Super Bowl appearances (1-1).

"Hey, if it was the defense, the Steelers may never truly find out, as theirs is tough and only aims to get better in 2024."

It's certainly expected that Pittsburgh's defense will be more like what Wilson had in Seattle than Denver.

Armed with a capable offensive coordinator in Arthur Smith, this could be Wilson's last shot at proving he still has what it takes to be in the game a little longer.
