Harry and Meghan's royal wedding carriage isn't quite as fancy as Kate and William's

It’s only 17 days to go until the wedding of the year and we’re slowly being drip-fed the finer details of the day.
Today, Kensington Palace revealed photos of the carriage that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have chosen for their procession through Windsor Town after their wedding on May 19th.
The couple have decided to ride in the Ascot Landau carriage, one of five Ascot Landaus in the Royal Mews.

The Queen has ridden in the Ascot Landaus many times before – so the newlyweds will be in good company.
In the past, Ascot Landaus were used for The Queen’s procession up the course at the Royal Ascot Race.
They’ve also been selected for many other official royal visits, including The Queen’s coronation visit to Edinburgh, the Investiture of The Prince of Wales at Caernarfon Castle, The Queen’s Silver Jubilee visits to Glasgow and Cardiff, and on State Visits.
In addition, the carriages played a role in the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011, carrying Prince Harry, Pippa Middleton and the bridesmaids and page boys from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace.
So Harry is pretty familiar with them…

To prepare for all circumstances, the couple will have two carriages on hand: one with a roof down in case of dry weather, and one with a covered top in case of rain.

The carriages will be lead by two Windsor Grey horses named Storm and Tyrone, who are father and son.
Windsor Grey horses have been the chosen breed for The Royal Family for years and have drawn the carriages of Monarchs and Members of The Royal Family since Queen Victoria.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were granted something slightly more fancy for their nuptials.
The pair rode in a 1902 State Landau, which is finished with gold and red paint and red furnishing.
VERY regal.

The carriage has carried many royal bride’s in the past – including William and Harry’s mother Princess Diana.
It’s likely the the couple have chosen a small carriage in order to easier manoeuvre around the narrow streets on Windsor.
