Two new shops open in a busy South Mississippi downtown just in time for Cruisin’
A building at 1218 Government St. has twice the fashions for fall as two new boutiques have opened in downtown Ocean Springs.
Ivory Rose Boutique and Boldly Blonde share the building and opened just in time for Cruisin’ The Coast and for fall and holiday dressing.
“I want it to be a place where all women can come and find something that inspires them and makes them feel beautiful,” said Jaclyn Rawls, owner of Ivory Rose Boutique.
“I just wanted to dress people and make them feel bold and beautiful and confident in what they wear,” said Boldly Blonde owner Carson Odom.
Both shops offer dressy and casual women’s clothing, footwear and accessories.
Ivory Rose
“We definitely want you to find your everyday pieces here,” Rawls said, along with fashions for date night, girls’ night out and transitional pieces that span the seasons. Sizes range from sizes extra-small to 2XL.
Popular this fall are leather shorts, sweaters and dresses in neutrals that can be dressed up or down with a blast of color and new shoes or boots.
“Color is really big for the fall,” she said, and pink, red, green and blue blue are displayed throughout the store. They also have Ocean Springs Greyhounds sweatshirts and Ocean Springs T-shirts coming in for people who love the town. She moved to Ocean Springs from Diamondhead three years ago and said the downtown “feels like vacation every time we’re here.”
The store has trendy stack bracelets and sparkly Halloween earrings that look like Frankenstein or a pumpkin with a cowgirl hat. Their charm bar lets customers choose five charms to create a custom charm necklace or bracelet. New concert charms are coming in to personalize the look with guitars and cowboy hats when going to an event.
The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11-4
Boldly Blonde
The shop moved to Ocean Springs from Pascagoula and opened Tuesday, while the brand has been online for more than five years. Customers can shop in person, online or on their app.
“I started this because I love clothing,” said Odom, who worked retail in college, and founded the Boldly Blonde brand tor the girl “who never has anything to wear,” she said.
The look is “trendy young adult,” she said, staring with everyday clothing or a statement piece and customizing them with layers of jeans, crop tops and blazers plus accessories. Red is big this year along with brown and emerald green and “denim everything,” she said.
The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. ad Sunday noon-4 p.m.
