Taco Bell never stops innovating. While its menu doesn’t often deviate from a set of staple ingredients, the chain constantly finds creative ways to expand the lineup. In March, it launched the Cantina menu which included tacos, quesadillas, and burritos featuring Taco Bell’s new slow-roasted chicken. Later in the year, the California-based restaurant collaborated with Cheez-It and swapped out the usual tostada in Crunchwraps for a giant Cheez-It that tasted just like the beloved snack cracker.

Now, Taco Bell is adding to the menu once again with a flavorful spin on its popular street chalupas.

Taco Bell’s Chicken Al Pastor Street Chalupas could be coming to menus in the future. But they'll have to pass through Minnesota first. Fans in Minneapolis will be given the chance to try the new chalupas, which offer a flavorful spin on the Cheesy Street Chalupas launched earlier this year. Currently, the item is in a testing phase, so it’s not yet known if we will see a nationwide release.

Taco Bell’s slow-roasted chicken has quickly become a menu favorite, and with this launch, the chain is adding its first flavor variation. Chicken Al Pastor Street Chalupas are filled with chicken made with a new sweet and savory marinade. The blend includes pineapple, chiles, and savory seasonings typical in al pastor recipes for a sweet and spicy taste that fans are sure to love.

Each Chicken Al Pastor Street Chalupa will come in a cheesy double shell, similar to the Quesalupa, and is topped with diced white onions and chopped cilantro. Don’t worry, if cilantro isn’t your thing, you can always customize the order to exclude it.

There’s more good news for those who love the al pastor flavor. Taco Bell plans to keep it coming. “Fans can look forward to even more al pastor-inspired news, including quesadillas, burritos, and bowls testing later in 2025,” stated a press release from the brand.

Starting Oct. 31, Minneapolis customers will be able to snag an order that includes two of the street-sized chalupas for $4.99 at participating locations—but only for a limited time.
