Even when I was a kid, Thanksgiving was my favorite holiday. Yes, I got toys on Christmas, but I was more interested in the food — and the dishes served on Thanksgiving always seemed more delicious and more special. After all, these were foods we rarely ate at any other time of the year, like roasted turkey, bread stuffing, stuffed peppers, stuffed mushrooms, and green bean casserole. I loved all the savory flavors associated with the holiday, and still do to this day.

So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered a pantry item that lets me enjoy those same flavors well ahead of the holiday: Williams Sonoma’s Thanksgiving Crunch. This versatile oil-based topping tastes exactly like Thanksgiving in a jar and lets me instantly turn an ordinary meal into a truly festive treat.

What Is Williams Sonoma Thanksgiving Crunch?

Williams Sonoma’s Thanksgiving Crunch features many of the ingredients that are key to the Turkey Day dishes I love, including rosemary, sage, thyme, fennel seeds, oregano, ginger, crisp fried onions (you read that right!), and, of course, salt and pepper, all packed in a blend of grapeseed oil and olive oil. While you may be tempted to eat it straight out of the jar (okay, maybe it’s just me), it’s meant to be drizzled onto different foods — like roasted meats and veggies as well as egg dishes — to give them an umami punch. An 8.5-ounce jar of Thanksgiving Crunch costs $18.95, and it’s also available as a set for $37.90.

Why I Love Williams Sonoma’s Thanksgiving Crunch

As I’ve said, I love Thanksgiving flavors, and this blend checks all the boxes. Upon opening the jar and giving it a sniff, I had memories of walking into my aunt’s kitchen when I was a kid and smelling the aromas of all the dishes my mother and grandmother were helping her prep for that afternoon’s Thanksgiving feast. While the smell of the crunch was heavenly, the flavor was even better, with each herb standing out without being overpowering, and the fried onions taking things to a whole new level of yumminess.

Because it’s so versatile, I’ve been using Thanksgiving Crunch in different ways for a variety of dishes. I’ve stirred it into a side of mashed potatoes, used it as a topping for my breakfast omelet and English muffin, and drizzled it over roasted chicken and potatoes. Every food it touches tastes so ridiculously good and has me dreaming up different ways I’ll use the blend next.

What I love most about Williams Sonoma’s Thanksgiving Crunch is that I no longer have to eagerly count down the days until I get to experience all those fall flavors I love. I can incorporate them into a multitude of meals any day of the week. I’ve started stocking up on this incredible blend so that I can enjoy it well beyond the holiday — and who knows, maybe I’ll even bring a little taste of Thanksgiving to my family’s Christmas dinner.
