Rebel Wilson is 'glowing' on Austrian getaway: 'Health = wealth'
Rebel Wilson is prioritizing her health.
On Friday, the 42-year-old "Pitch Perfect" star took to Instagram to share a photo of herself looking happy and healthy in front of a mountain in Austria, wearing a matching black bike short set paired with slides and a jacket. Wilson is visiting an Austrian luxury medical health resort and holistic wellness retreat in Altaussee called Vivamayr.
"Living that @vivamayraltaussee lifestyle," she captioned the post for her more than 11 million followers. "Health = Wealth."
The photo quickly garnered praise from fans for her "sporty look," for putting her health first — but it also came with some criticism for being "unrealistic."
"You look incredible. well done on your journey," one Instagram user commented, while another wrote, "That whole place looks absolutely stunning. You’re glowing."
"Looking gorgeous!" another wrote.
"I'm so happy for you that you live a healthy lifestyle!" wrote another.
One person chimed in: "I love this sporty look."
"You earned this…enjoy every minute!" someone else commented.
Others weighed in with criticism, however, pointing out that Wilson's health journey isn't accessible for everyone.
"It’s great to see you’re healthy and fit, but for most people, especially those on a salary under $200K, $100K, going to this place is simply unrealistic. While you can afford to pay for physical trainers to train you daily etc, the rest can’t," one person shared.
"I’m so happy for you and your transformation, however when you post please be mindful that the majority of people cannot afford and do not have access to the therapies of your choice," another commenter echoed.
One Instagram user sounded off: "Wealth = Health."
Back in December, the actress opened up about her impressive 70-pound weight loss, and how it initially affected her career.
She revealed that her team was not initially supportive of her lifestyle change because it didn't match up with the types of roles she normally took on.
"I got a lot of pushback from my own team actually here in Hollywood when I said, 'OK I'm gonna do this year of health. I feel like I'm really gonna physically transform and change my life.' And they were like, 'Why? Why would you want to do that?'" Wilson said during an interview with BBC. "Because I was earning millions of dollars being the funny fat girl and being that person."
She added that "being bigger" never caused her confidence to waver — it was her health that she was concerned with.
"I was still very confident being bigger and you know loved myself. I would rock a red carpet and was probably double the size and sometimes triple the weight of other actresses, but like I still felt confident in that," she explained.
"But I knew deep down inside some of the emotional eating behaviours I was doing were not healthy. Like I did not need a tub of ice cream every night," she added. "That was me, kind of numbing emotions using food, which wasn't the healthiest thing."
