Lauren Kyle shares 'romantic and dreamy' 2023 recap with NHLer fiancé Connor McDavid
Fans are excited to see what 2024 has in store for the couple, as they're set to tie the knot in July.
Lauren Kyle is looking back on a romantic year with Connor McDavid.
On Monday, the fiancée of the Edmonton Oilers captain shared a heartwarming Instagram reel recapping an eventful 2023 — the year she and McDavid got engaged.
The video showed candid footage of the couple, including the pair kissing against a lakefront sunset, slow dancing, travelling, moments following of their engagement and Kyle shopping for wedding dresses in New York City. Kyle also included clips of herself cheering on McDavid at his games.
Confirming 2023 was one for the books, she captioned the post: "2023 was a good one!" alongside a sparkle and white heart emoji.
In the comments, fans swooned over Kyle's "dreamy" New Year's video with her soon-to-be husband.
"Now onto the wedding of a Canadian prince and princess 2024," an Instagram user quipped.
"This is so romantic and dreamy. I'm obsessed," one person commented. "I can't wait for you two to tie the knot. It's going to be beautiful"
"Super adorable," wrote another.
"Beautiful couple," a fan added.
In December, Kyle engaged with her Instagram followers in a Q&A session — and revealed a key wedding detail. During the interactive session, a fan asked if the pair had chosen a date yet. Kyle responded she and McDavid's wedding will be on July 27, 2024.
Additionally, she went on to reveal some details around how her and McDavid met.
"We were set up by my cousin and his teammate!" she told a fan in an Instagram story. "We went on a date eight years ago, and the rest is history," she penned.
Kyle also shared two things about living in Edmonton that have surprised her, writing, "The food is amazing here — so many good spots." She also noted Edmonton has "the best dog park in Canada, in my biased opinion."
Kyle and McDavid, who started dating in 2015, announced their engagement with an Instagram post back in June. Alongside a carousel of photos that captured the moment McDavid popped the big question, Kyle put her happiness into words with a heartfelt caption.
"I cannot put into words how happy I am to be spending the rest of our lives together. Almost eight years of growth, happiness, and so much love, and I can't believe we have so much more to look forward to," she shared.
