The couple plans to have a summer wedding.
Lauren Kyle and Connor McDavid have announced the date of their upcoming nuptials.
On Tuesday, the Edmonton Oilers captain's fiancée engaged with her Instagram followers in a Q&A session — and revealed some wedding details. During the interactive session, a fan asked if the pair had chosen a date yet. Kyle responded that she and McDavid will be tying the knot on July 27, 2024.
She also revealed some details around how her and McDavid met.
"We were set up by my cousin and his teammate!" she told a fan. "We went on a date eight years ago, and the rest is history," she penned.
Kyle also shared two things about living in Edmonton that have surprised her, writing, "The food is amazing here — so many good spots."
She also noted Edmonton has "the best dog park in Canada, in my biased opinion."
Kyle and McDavid who started dating in 2015, announced their engagement with an Instagram post back in June. Alongside a carousel of photos that captured the moment McDavid popped the big question, Kyle put her happiness into words with a heartfelt caption.
"I cannot put into words how happy I am to be spending the rest of our lives together. Almost eight years of growth, happiness, and so much love, and I can't believe we have so much more to look forward to," she shared.
"I knew you were my person from the day we met, and I can't wait for the beautiful life we are going to create together," she continued. Expressing gratitude for the thoughtful proposal, Kyle concluded, "Thank you for the most thoughtful, picture-perfect proposal that I could never have imagined. I love you more than anything."
In October, the content creator shared an Instagram reel documenting her recent wedding dress shopping experience in New York City. In the video, Kyle posed in several bridal gowns, showcasing a wide range of shapes, fabrics, sleeves and necklines.
"NYC dress diaries: A sneak peek into my search for 'the one,'" the bride-to-be captioned the post. "So many dresses, but the perfect one is playing hard to get!"
