Katherine Ormerod's favourite rugs to transform a rented space
Journalist, author and content creator, Katherine Ormerod, has teamed up with Ruggable to launch a special curated collection of rugs that tap into her signature style.
Well-known for sharing her DIY and interior design know-how, Katherine's 21-strong edit combines sophisticated colours with contemporary patterns and practical design features (non-slip, machine-washable, and spill-proof) to transform living spaces, especially rental homes, and to cater to busy lifestyles.
'Animal prints, stripes, scallops and a textured Moroccan style are all signatures in my home, and they all have the power to update any room,' says Katherine, who recently published a book, Your Not Forever Home: Affordable, Elevated, Temporary Decor for Renters. 'As a renter I really appreciate how much impact Ruggable designs have – they are such a clever way to completely transform a rented space and add texture, colour, and print to every room.'
A few favourites include the maze-like pattern on the warm terracotta Helene rug and the play on stripes and checks on the Lira rug. It's not just about aesthetics though. 'Ruggable rugs are so amazing for childproofing your style at home – no matter what my terrors drop on them, I just pop it in the washing machine and it comes out fresh and new,' says mum-of-two Katherine.
