  • 2 tbsp.

    baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp.

    kosher salt

  • 3/4 c.

(1 1/2) sticks butter, cold, cut into pieces, plus 1/2 c. (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 3/4 c.

    whole milk

  • 1 1/2 c.

    shredded sharp cheddar

  • 3 tsp.

  • 1 tbsp.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on low speed, beat flour, baking powder, salt, and 3/4 cup butter, working your way up to medium speed, until a dough forms with pea-sized lumps. Slowly stream in milk and beat on low speed until just combined. Fold in cheese and 2 teaspoons garlic powder.

  2. Using a spoon, place 2" blobs of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  3. Bake biscuits until lightly golden, 18 to 20 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile, in a small heatproof bowl, microwave 1/2 cup butter in 20-second increments, stirring between each, until melted, about 1 minute total. Stir in parsley and remaining 1 teaspoon garlic powder.

  5. Brush butter mixture on top of each biscuit while still warm.
