This Colonial Mansion Is in One of New Jersey’s Wealthiest Towns. It Can Be Yours for $4.4 Million

While Princeton and Hoboken top lists as the best places to live in New Jersey, leafy and affluent Short Hills in Millburn Township is one of the Garden State’s most sought-after communities for families. With a high-ranking school system and an easy commute to the Big Apple, it isn’t hard to see the appeal. A stately Colonial-style house on a quiet cul-de-sac is now up for grabs at $4.35 million in the area. And with nearly 7,500 square feet of living space, tiny tykes are afforded lots of breathing room to enjoy. Arlene Gorman Gonnella of Weichert Realtors holds the listing.

The seven-bedroom Hamilton Road home was built in 2005 on a cul-de-sac in the Deerfield Elementary district. Its gut renovation factored in custom millwork and Carlisle white oak floors, alongside high-end finishes and lighting. Eight bathrooms also means very few arguments over who takes a morning shower first. Luxe amenities like the wet bar and saltwater pool in the backyard add to the appeal.

Six bedrooms are spread across the second floor, including the primary suite with a fireplace and spa-like bathroom featuring a custom soaking tub. Three of the secondary bedrooms have their own bathrooms, while two others share one. Owners can get work done with minimal distractions on the third floor, where the home office is tucked into the sloping roof with walls and custom built-ins painted a rich demin blue.

The final bedroom is found on the lower level, next to the laundry room and doors that open out to a saltwater pool with Laminar jets and water sheers. A covered patio sits opposite, offering ample seating space during the warmer months. Kickbacks around the backyard fire pit also allow you to admire the lush landscaping.

Last year, Forbes ranked Short Hills as the third richest city in New Jersey, with a median annual household income of over $250,000. An increasingly desirable spot to settle, the community’s population has also increased by more than seven percent since the most recent census in 2020, according to reports.
