As an outerwear hoarder, there are few things as satisfying as buying a new jacket for fall. I grew up in Alberta and have spent much of my adulthood flitting between Ontario, Germany and the U.K., so I am very familiar with dressing for warm, rainy, brisk and freezing autumn weather.
More than anything else in my wardrobe, I find myself willing to splurge on a good coat. Not only will it (hopefully) keep you warm, but an aesthetically pleasing jacket will win you more compliments from strangers than anything else.
