'Kiss my fat a--': Bebe Rexha has a message for designers who said she was 'too big'

Bebe Rexha has some choice words for the designers who refused to dress her for the Grammys because she was “too big.”

The “Meant to Be” singer recently stopped by “The Jonathan Ross Show” in the U.K. and spoke candidly about being snubbed by designers because of her size.

After learning she was nominated for two Grammy awards, the 29-year-old says she received a text that several major fashion houses were refusing to lend the size 8 singer clothes.

“I like my curves,” Rexha said. “It hurt me. I’ve struggled with my weight all my life. Especially being in the music business, looks is an important thing, but you also want to be healthy. It’s not just physical, it’s about mental [health] it’s about feeling happy. I don’t want to be at a place where I’m starving myself to fit into certain clothes.”

Rexha ended up wearing a crimson ball gown by Monsoori —which she said made her feel “like a princess.”

Although initially soured by the experience, the star says she hopes more designers will consider expanding their lines for all body types.

“The fashion industry needs to be more inclusive...even if you’re thinner,” she said. “You should show love to every body type, every shape - big boobs, small boobs.”

Aside from Monsoori, Rexha revealed that several high profile names such as Jeremy Scott and the late Karl Lagerfeld sent her designs to wear.

“I saw who the real nice people were,” Rexha said, before jokingly adding, “And all the other ones can kiss my fat ass.”
