Angela Price wants to start 'doing life a little bit again' after dad's recent death
The wife of Canadian NHL star Carey Price gave fans an update on her life following her family's recent tragic news.
Angela Price is starting to get back on track.
The wife of Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday to share an update with her fans following a week of tragic news.
"I told myself today I had to shower, wash my hair, start doing life a little bit again," she said, after noting that she kept putting off sharing her recent thoughts online.
On Aug. 17, the Washington-born influencer took to Instagram to share with her fans that her family was grieving the loss of her father, who had died the day prior.
Price shared in her update on Wednesday that her father's death was "sudden and unexpected," and began explaining how last week played out for her family.
"We got in Sunday night. Luckily we came into town early; I'm so grateful we did. We had a great night with my dad and sat by the pool, me and my dad talked politics a little and [it] was just a great evening," she recalled. "Monday morning, he had really terrible abdomen pain and my mom took him into the ER. It turns out that he had a perforated bowel and went into surgery. Long story short, he went into septic shock and never woke up from surgery."
She continued to share that she's been spending the past week surrounded by family and friends. On top of that, Price said her and her husband had already planned to be in Washington State for a couple of weeks, so they didn't have to worry about their schedules.
"We've had a great support system," she noted. "My DMs are flooded and I know a lot of you were worried because I hadn't gotten on [Instagram] this week, so I wanted to get on and just say 'thank you' for all your prayers and all the messages."
Price added that even friends she hasn't spoken to in awhile have been showing their support by bringing her food and flowers in Washington's Tri-Cities, where she's currently staying.
She concluded her message to say that her husband took their two girls — Liv, 7, and Millie, 4 — to Montreal for a couple of days, which helped her collect her thoughts and spend time with her loved ones, wrapping up her update to say that she's "doing OK" despite her loss.
"Words cannot express the immense love and gratitude I have for this amazing man," Price penned in her initial post, letting fans know that her father died. "He provided me with the most wonderful childhood filled with love, laughter and cherished memories.
"I hold onto the lessons he taught me and the legacy he leaves behind. Forever grateful for the time we shared and the impact he made on my life. Rest in peace, Dad. You will be deeply missed, but your love will forever live on in my heart."
