Bears rule out Jaquan Brisker (concussion) vs. Jaguars

The Chicago Bears (3-2) have officially ruled out safety Jaquan Brisker for Sunday morning's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) in London, general manager Ryan Poles announced Wednesday.

Brisker reported experiencing concussion-like symptoms on Monday, and he was diagnosed with his third concussion in the NFL.

Brisker appeared to have suffered the injury in the first half when he laid a big hit on Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble, which forced a key turnover. While Tremble was shortly after ruled out with a concussion, Brisker remained in the game. He finished with five tackles, a pass breakup and a forced fumble.

Poles told reporters that concussion protocols were followed on Sunday, although Brisker's symptoms weren't reported until Monday.

Poles also provided injury updates on several players now eligible to come off injured reserve: offensive lineman Ryan Bates is "getting healthier," offensive tackle Larry Borom is "getting closer" to returning and defensive end Jacob Martin's 21-day window to return will begin this week in London. In addition, tight end Tommy Sweeney has also been signed to the practice squad.

The Bears previously announced that cornerback Terell Smith (hip) and defensive tackle Zacch Pickens (groin) would not travel with the team, and it's assumed they will not be making the trip and suiting up Sunday.
