Disneyland Hikes Price Of Most Tickets & All Magic Key Passes Well Beyond Cost Of Inflation

Summer is over, so that means it’s time for the annual Disneyland price hike.

The park announced today that most daily ticket prices are going up by about 6% while the top-tier Magic Key pass is rising a whopping 20%. New rates are effective today.

For comparison, the Consumer Price Index rose 2.5% in the year period ending in August 2024. That’s according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The rate of increase is expected to fall further in 2025.

Daily Tickets

The good news is that Disneyland’s lowest cost, Tier 0 ticket is unchanged at $104. But those tickets are also the most restricted, in terms of days guests can visit. For instance, there are currently only five days before the end of the year that are available for Tier 0 ticket reservations.

More good news is that the park is bringing back its kids ticket offer, which provides entry for as low was $50 for visits after January 7, 2025. Tickets under this offer go on sale October 22.

Beyond that, the new daily prices and the calculated percentage increases over last year are as follows:

Tier 0 – Stays at $104

Tier 1 – $126 for a 5.9% increase

Tier 2 – $142 for a 6% increase

Tier 3 – $164 for a 6.5% increase

Tier 4 – $180 for a 6.5% increase

Tier 5 – $196 for a 6.5% increase

Tier 6 – $206 for a 6.2% increase

Stepping up tiers, of course, provides greater calendar flexibility and other amenities.

Multiple-Day Tickets

Multi-day options have also increased at about the same rate as daily tickets. The new price points are as follows:

2-Day – $330 for a 6.5% increase

3-Day – $415 for a 6.4% increase

4-Day – $474 for a 6.5% increase

5-Day – $511 for a 6.5% increase

Magic Key Passes

Magic Key annual passes have generally increased more than individual ticket prices, with the highest-rung Inspire Key rising a whopping 20% year-over-year. Dollar wise, that puts Inspire Key Passes up $100 in one year. For new pricing, see below chart provided by the park.

Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Good sought, in a statement, to couch the new pricing in terms of flixability.

“There is nothing like a visit to Disneyland Resort. We always provide a wide variety of ticket, dining and hotel options, and promotional offers throughout the year, to welcome as many families as possible,” she said.

Last year, the most expensive daily Disneyland pass rose about 9%, while the four tiers of Magic Key passes increased between 3.1% and 21.5%. A CNN analysis today estimated that, since 2021, the cost of the Inspire Key pass has risen 25%. The Believe Key has reportedly jumped 45%, while Enchant and Imagine Key costs are up a whopping 50%.

Date-based day passes for the parks stayed at the same price in last year’s announcement.

Parking for cars and motorcycles at the California park rose $5 to $35 in 2023. There is no parking increase this time around.

Of course, Disneyland is also investing significantly the park.

DisneylandForward is Disney’s $1.9 billion, multi-decade expansion plan for Walt’s original park. It was approved in May by the Anaheim City Council.

Earlier this year, Disney CEO Bob Iger offered a brief first look at the “possible” new Avatar-themed area at the Anaheim park. Pandora – The World of Avatar, has been up and running at Disney World in Florida for years and Iger said it is the company’s “intention” to make it a new feature of Disneyland.

Earlier this year, Disney CFO Hugh Johnston said on a Q2 earnings call that Parks growth in the fiscal third quarter will be flat for a few reasons including “some normalization of post-Covid demand as it relates to demand. While consumers continue to travel in record numbers and we are still seeing healthy demand, we are seeing some evidence of a global moderation from peak post-Covid travel.”
