Yahoo Autos Woman Carjacks Ford Raptor Using A BB Gun

Carjackings at gunpoint are a sad, dangerous reality these days, but a woman in Utah took a Ford Raptor from some victims by using a BB gun which looked close enough to the real thing. Now she’s facing a long list of criminal charges, including several felonies.

According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, at just after 2 am on October 19 four people were held at gunpoint in the parking lot of Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon by a woman who took their Ford Raptor truck.
The victims, who called 911 after running into some nearby bushes, told authorities they were in the pickup’s bed and cab when the woman approached, pointed a gun at them, and told the frightened victims to get out. They complied and she climbed into the stolen vehicle.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they say 35-year-old Heather Leann Murray of Heber City was sitting in the Ford, honking the horn repeatedly. When ordered to get out, she refused. But as more deputies arrived, she became aggressive, pointing the big truck at them.
Since she was allegedly armed, deputies backed up. That allowed Murray to drive away and for whatever reason she decided to ford the Provo River in it. Proving how capable Raptors are, the truck made it to the opposite bank.
However, it got stuck shortly after, so the woman bailed and ran away on foot towards a paved pathway that runs through the canyon. Law enforcement agencies from the area converged, combing the dark wilderness, eventually capturing the woman.
When the Raptor was searched for evidence, sitting on the center console was the BB gun which looked like a real firearm in the poor lighting. Deputies also located a parked car that was rented by Murray and inside they allegedly found cocaine and drug paraphernalia. That would explain her erratic behavior since most car thieves take off and try getting far away after stealing a vehicle.
It looks like Murray could be spending a long time incarcerated.
