Toyota is involved in nearly every level of motorsport, from its new partnership with Haas in Formula 1 and entries in NASCAR and the 24 Hours of Le Mans to grassroots efforts like the single-make GR Cup series for the GR86 sports car. Now Toyota has revealed a new race car at a media event at the GR Garage in Mooresville, North Carolina, with the GR Corolla TC set to slot in between the GR86 Cup racer and the Supra GT4 car.

The TC racer will compete in the TC America series organized by SRO and begins life as a production GR Corolla, utilizing the same 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and GR-Four all-wheel-drive system. In the production vehicle, the three-pot produces 300 horsepower, and for 2025, all GR Corolla cars will churn out 295 pound-feet of torque. Toyota hasn't mentioned any power figures for the race car, but we don't expect major differences for the track-going machine.

Numerous Upgrades

At the GR Garage, where Toyota also assembles its GR86 Cup cars, the company will upgrade several aspects of the TC racer. The GR Corolla will receive six-piston front and two-piston rear brakes from Alcon, custom MacPherson struts designed by Toyota's Gazoo Racing motorsports division, and dual-adjustable shocks from JRi.

A Bosch Motorsports electronics system will manage the drivetrain, power management, and ABS, while the cabin is fitted with an FIA-approved roll cage, an OMP fiberglass seat with a six-point harness, and an OMP electronically activated fire-extinguishing system. The body also receives several aerodynamic appendages, with a sizable rear wing, rear diffuser, and front splitter.
