Rear Ending Comes To A Fiery Conclusion

Rear ending the car in front of you can come with serious consequences, like how this Chevy crossover burst into flames after it ran into a Toyota. Whether it’s caused by tailgating, distracted driving, a combination of the two, or something else, these types of accidents can result in serious injuries or death.

The Most Feared Roads In America

In this particular case, as reported by OnScene TV, the driver of the Chevy just plain disappeared. They must’ve been a ninja because witnesses didn’t see the person at all, telling 911 they thought the driver might still be inside before first responders arrived on scene.

That was especially concerning considering the crossover was engulfed in flames. However, after firefighters knocked those down, they determined nobody was inside.

Why did the driver slip away? That’s a good question. It’s possible the vehicle was stolen and the driver didn’t want to face consequences. Or they might have warrants for their arrest. It’s even possible the driver was intoxicated but with it enough to realize they needed to get out of there before that fact could be ascertained by police.

If the vehicle is registered to this person or the owner knows they were driving it at the time, they’re not going to get away with fleeing the scene of the accident, plus whatever else police throw at them.

According to witnesses, the Chevy was traveling at a high speed on northbound Interstate 5 in Los Angeles when it slammed into the Toyota crossover. Considering the collision damage was bad enough to crumple the front end and spark a fire, that checks out.

But at least nobody was injured in the crash or the aftermath. Well, we think nobody was, but with the Chevy driver missing authorities aren’t entirely sure that’s the case.
