Yahoo Autos Thief Steals Car And Dog Left Inside

A car thief in Pennsylvania stole an elderly man’s car keys, taking not only his ride but his beloved companion, a dog named Lucky. The victim is pleading that his pooch is returned with members of the community keeping their eyes peeled for the four-legged companion.

The victim, who is 87 years old, was outside a Tractor Supply store when someone stole his car keys right out of his pocket. Before the elderly man could do anything about it, the thief took off running, jumped into the vehicle, and drove off.
Understandably, the victim is distraught and just wants his dog back. There’s even a reward for his return, no questions asked.
More recently, authorities were able to track to the stolen Ford Focus and the man suspected of taking it. While that’s great news and hopefully the thief faces some true justice, Lucky was apparently nowhere to be found.
Police in North Carolina had to chase the stolen Ford at high speeds on a highway. The suspect eventually crashed, rolling the car, bringing the pursuit to a close. The man who Lucky says he dumped the dog at a rest area outside of Selma, North Carolina. What happened to the dog after that, if the guy’s telling the truth, is a mystery.
There was a report recently that Lucky might have been found as a stray in Georgia. However, that dog apparently wasn’t Lucky after all, so the search continues. This is one of those agonizing stories about car theft. While a vehicle can be returned, a beloved pet isn’t replaced like that.
We know some pet owners have trackers on their dog’s collar, which isn’t a bad idea considering. But it’s a sad fact that we live in a world where something like that might be necessary because someone could steal your car with Fido inside and not care what happens to the living creature.
