When you get enough gearheads together to talk about good car movies, one that inevitably comes up is Blues Brothers 2000. Some might try arguing it isn’t a car movie, but for those who know, the 1991 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is one of the stars and so by definition it is. Now the very car used on screen by Dan Aykroyd himself is crossing the auction block, giving you a shot at a blend of cinematic and automotive history.

Learn where the most famous TV and movie cars are today.

Not only did Aykroyd drive this Ford in the movie, he personally owned it. The registration included in the sale proves that, plus there’s the actor’s autograph and inscription on the dash. He sold the Crown Victoria to the Slippery Noodle club in Indianapolis, apparently deciding to buy a Cadillac.

A true workhorse, just like what cops used back in the day, this Crown Vic is packing heat with its 351 Windsor V8 under that long hood. The lot listing says there are $15,000 in engine modifications put into the mill, which you can see some apparent signs just by popping the hood.

That modified V8 is backed by an automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels for plenty of fun times, if you dare drive this cinematic icon.

This police cruiser even has dual spotlights in the A-pillars and a push bar mounted to the front bumper. Plus, the backseat area is caged off, perfect for transporting dangerous suspects to lockup.

The future owner might decide to put this car in a preservation bubble or even better, consign it to a museum where other people can enjoy seeing it. Either way, we imagine the value will increase over time as more people realize the genius of Blues Brothers 2000.
