Yahoo Autos Cybertruck Driver Hits Motorcyclist, Then Runs

One would think driving a vehicle as rare and distinct as a Tesla Cybertruck would keep someone from doing a hit-and-run, but apparently that’s not the case. A Cybertruck driver reportedly hit a woman on a motorcycle while going at a high rate of speed in the Salt Lake City area, then just kept on going.

Police are now searching for the hit-and-run driver. As for the motorcycle rider, she was sent to the hospital in critical condition. Considering how Tesla fanboys were bragging about what the stainless steel body panels on the electric truck would do to other vehicles, that’s sadly not shocking.
The crash happened early on the morning of October 5 at the State Street and 7800 South intersection. Both motorcyclists were sitting at a red light when the speeding Cybertruck sideswiped the woman, mangling her right leg and breaking her right hand.
In the impact, the driver’s side mirror of the Tesla was broken off.
The friend who was at the crash scene started digging around on social media. He believes he’s found the person who did the hit-and-run, but police are apparently still trying to confirm that before making an arrest.
Posting about the crash, the friend had someone send photos of a Tesla Cybertruck with driver’s side damage consistent with the crash. The side mirror is broken off, one window is shattered, and police even impounded the vehicle. But they’re still unsure it was the vehicle which hit the motorcyclist.
Police should be able to access the camera recordings in the truck, easily confirming if it was the one that hit the motorcycle rider.
Sadly, this might not be the last case involving a Cybertruck mangling a motorcycle rider or pedestrian. Considering their sharp angles and stainless steel body panels, they’re not exactly forgiving toward human bodies. Hopefully in this case the right person is charged for the hit-and-run.
