Mini just unveiled its first electric vehicles to earn the John Cooper Works performance treatment, the Cooper Electric Hatchback and Aceman, for foreign markets. The 2025 Mini Cooper JCW Hatchback and JCW Convertible feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission, presumably the same seven-speed unit found in the Countryman JCW. The inline-four pumps out 228 horsepower, the same as last year, and 280 pound-feet of torque, which is a 45-pound-foot jump over the previous iteration. Mini says the JCW Hatchback will sprint to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds while the JCW Convertible will complete the same run in 6.2 seconds. The hatchback maxes out at 155 mph while the convertible is just a tad shy of that, with a 152-mph top speed.

Mini ensures that the John Cooper Works models stand out with flashy styling upgrades. The large octagonal grille is finished in a gloss-black look and features several air vents and a JCW badge. Two air intakes with red accents sit on either side of the grille in the front bumper, and the daytime running light signature in the headlights is specific to the JCW models.

At the rear, the hatchback wears a spoiler, and both models sport a black rear diffuser bisected by a single centrally mounted exhaust pipe. The JCW models also come with sporty 17- and 18-inch wheel designs. Buyers can also choose to add red or black racing stripes on the hood, and the brake calipers are painted in Chili Red and adorned with JCW logos.

While the hatchback variant can be spec'd with a contrasting roof color, the convertible's soft top can be had in either black or gray with a Union Jack graphic. The powered soft top takes 18 seconds to fold down and can be stowed at speeds of up to 18.6 mph.

The red-and-black theme continues inside, where the JCW models receive sports seats in black synthetic leather and red accent stitching. The knitted material on the dashboard adopts a checkered-flag-inspired design. All JCWs come with a standard Harman/Kardon sound system.

The Mini Cooper JCW Hatchback will start at $39,195 and the Cooper JCW Convertible will cost $44,695 when sales kick off in the United States in January 2025.
