Fan frenzy over shock $195,000 detail in UFC boss' photo

UFC fans have spotted president Dana White watching the Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant fight on a monitor as he sat ringside during the main card of UFC 268.

On the weekend, the main card of the UFC took place in New York and competed with one of the biggest boxing fights of the year in Las Vegas.

Many followers around the world tuned into both events from home in a feast for combat sport fans.

However, eagled-eyed fans in Maddison Square Garden spotted an unusual sight involving White.

During the co-main event between Rose Namajunas and Zhang Weili, White was spotted looking at a monitor with the fight between Canelo and Plant taking place at the same time.

YouTuber Jake Paul, who often hits out at White over his role as UFC president, slammed White for showing his fighters 'disrespect'.

"Aye Dana White. How you gonna disrespect 'Thug' Rose like that? Congrats champ."

After both events were over, White announced he had bet a whopping $100,000 ($AUD 135,000) on Canelo to knockout Plant.

White was asked after the main card about the incident and said his bet had him keeping one-eye on the blockbuster bout.

“I like Canelo, I watched the fight, I bet on Canelo, that’s why I watched the fight,” he said.

“I bet $100,000 on him to win by knockout.”

Canelo became just the sixth man to unify a division after a TKO victory over Plant in the 11th round of their super middleweight championship fight.

White ended up winning $AUD 195,000 on the fight.

White urges Kamura Usman not to fight Canelo Alvarez

The UFC main event saw Kamaru Usman defeat long-time rival Colby Covington in a rematch in the welterweight championship.

Leading up to the fight, Usman had been eyeing a fight with Canelo in boxing.

Both fighters are pound-for-pound kings in their respective sports and Usman said the challenge would excite him.

“To be honest with you, I’ll tell you what will really get the people going – when have you ever seen two pound-for-pound fighters in the world in their respective sports go at it?” Usman told ESPN.

“Who’s the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world right now? It’s not about money, it’s about what gets me out of bed, what gets me scared. I want the chance. I want to fight Canelo.”

Earlier last week, Canelo appeared to shut down any chance of this bout occurring.

White was asked about the potential match-up in the post-event press conference.

However, the UFC president wasn't as confident in Usman's leap after watching yet another Canelo masterclass.

“I watched the Canelo fight tonight,” White said.

“He doesn’t want to fight Canelo.

“Come on, man. Let’s stop this s**t. If Canelo wants to come over here, let’s do it. He don’t wanna box Canelo.”
