Roger Federer cops Nick Kyrgios sledge over isolation video

Roger Federer has lifted the spirits of tennis fans around the world after he showed he is still able to pull out all the trick shots of his youth in a trick shot masterclass.

The 20-times grand slam champion last played at the semi-finals of the Australian Open, where he lost to eventual champion Novak Djokovic, before undergoing keyhole surgery on his knee in February.

While Federer champ remains in self-isolation, he took part in the social media craze of ‘Tennis at Home’, which involves fans showing off their skills in self-isolation.

"Making sure I still remember how to hit trick shots #TennisAtHome," the 38-year-old tweeted along with the video, which showed the Swiss champion gliding around in the snow.

The Swiss maestro braved the cold and seamlessly pulled off tweeners and behind the back shots as he hit the ball against the wall.

Fans have already gone bonkers over seeing Federer in action for the first time since surgery with the video watched more than 3.85 million times.

Star uses Kyrgios to sledge Federer masterclass

But the challenge didn’t impress everyone.

US star Mardy Fish thought he would take a light-hearted sledge at Federer and using his Laver Cup teammate and friend Nick Kyrgios as an example.

“This is nothing. Warm up Nick Kyrgios,” he wrote.

Fans are well aware of the Aussie maverick’s arsenal of trick shots, which have become part of his weaponry during his matches.

Who knows, maybe Kyrgios will respond with his own self-isolation trick shot video.
