Corey Parker's wife reveals message from Kevin Walters' wife amid Brisbane Broncos controversy

Margaux Parker has addressed the situation surrounding Billy Walters' exit from Triple M radio in Brisbane.

Corey Parker's wife Margaux has moved to dismiss notions of a 'feud' between Triple M radio and the Brisbane Broncos after she was caught up in the storm around Billy Walters' boycott of the network. Walters has left his regular role on the Brisbane breakfast radio show hosted by Greg Martin, Dan Anstey and Margaux Parker.

Walters was making regular appearances to discuss the Broncos' season, but hasn't returned after a withering swipe from former Martin. The former Wallabies player tore into the players and their attitude, and also questioned the coaching abilities of Kevin Walters, after their 41-16 loss to the Bulldogs in Round 21.

Billy Walters is said to have left the show after the criticism of his teammates and father, and Kevin's wife Narelle phoned Margaux to express her disappointment. Broncos captain Adam Reynolds has since stepped into the role made vacant by Billy Walters, but that prompted backlash from club legend Gorden Tallis.

As the controversy intensified this week, Margaux opened up on the situation on Tuesday morning and revealed she's smoothed things over with Narelle. "They haven't won a lot so we've been critical of the losses," Margaux explained in relation to Martin's explosive comments. "I received a phone call from the coach's wife Narelle to express her disappointment in us not supporting Kevvie, and if we wanted to let Kevvie know that we weren't happy with his coaching, that we should probably have that conversation with Kevvie."

Margaux explained she could see where Narelle was coming from because she often gets upset when she hears criticism of husband Corey as well. "I want to come to his defence as well, and that's what she was doing," Margaux said. "We've since spoken and everything is fine. She was caught up in the heat of the moment. She was upset and reacted and has since said 'I'm sorry that I rang you' and that's done. We've got 20 years of friendship and history and there's no feud there."

Speaking after the Broncos' thrashing at the hands of the Bulldogs, Martin had said: “These poncy rock stars that are at the Broncos, they need a kick up the a**. But no-one is prepared to give it to them because Kevvie isn’t tough enough on people.

“No-one is saying this because the media is littered with Kevin’s friends. OK, he is a great bloke, he is funny, fun and everything. I played league until I was 16. I have half an idea, but geez there appears to be troubles in terms of coaching at the Broncos.

“Social media has become a bigger part of the Broncos than defensive efforts. You need someone to tell you some tough news. The Broncos need to put their foot down. The other day I jokingly called for Kevvie’s head but something has to change ... whether they get someone else."

On Sunday, Tallis declared that Reynolds should have shown his support for Billy and Kevin for refusing to go on Triple M. Tallis suggested it showed Reynolds doesn't have the coach's back, but the skipper refuted that notion on Monday.

"Kev brought me here from (South Sydney) and has given me a great opportunity to come up to a great club and do something special," Reynolds said. "I love the place and I am forever grateful. Kev has done a fantastic job leading this club and is the right man for that job.. We believe in him.

"We just need to get on board and follow the instructions from Kev. I have never seen anyone more passionate about the club and someone who loves the club and it has to rub off on the players."
