Adam Reynolds torched over radio move after Corey Parker's wife caught up in Broncos furore
The Brisbane captain has responded after a withering rebuke from Gorden Tallis.
Broncos legend Gorden Tallis has ripped into Adam Reynolds after the Brisbane captain decided to step into the shoes of teammate Billy Walters and join Triple M radio. Walters had been making regular appearances this year on the breakfast radio program hosted by Greg Martin, Dan Anstey and Margaux Parker (the wife of Broncos legend Corey).
But Walters quit the gig last month after former Wallabies player Martin launched a scathing tirade on Broncos players and coach Kevin Walters after their 41-16 loss to the Bulldogs in Round 21. Billy was so perturbed by Martin's comments that he vowed not to return to the show, and Kevin's wife rang Margaux to express her disappointment.
Broncos captain Reynolds has since replaced Billy Walters in making regular appearances on the program. But according to Tallis, Reynolds should have boycotted the show as well to support Billy and Kevin.
“It was just a test (of whether Reynolds had Walters’ back)," Tallis declared on Triple M last weekend. “Billy Walters said no to coming on this station and his captain jumps straight in.
“If one of my players said no to come on to this (radio network), it’s one in, all in. That’s the problem. I wouldn’t do it. He (Reynolds) can say no. You can say no. You have to be on the same page and you have to be one in, all in.”

Speaking on Monday, Reynolds responded to Tallis' comments and threw his support behind Walters. "It is his opinion. He is entitled to his opinion. I was on the radio this morning backing Kev," Reynolds said.
"Kev brought me here from (South Sydney) and has given me a great opportunity to come up to a great club and do something special. I love the place and I am forever grateful. Kev has done a fantastic job leading this club and is the right man for that job.. We believe in him.
"We just need to get on board and follow the instructions from Kev. I have never seen anyone more passionate about the club and someone who loves the club and it has to rub off on the players."
Gorden Tallis piles pressure on Broncos players
Tallis declared the Broncos players should be feeling the most heat over the club's embarrassing finals miss, not coach Walters. Tallis pointed out that the season started on a bad note when Reynolds had a scuffle with Patrick Carrigan, and it never improved from there.
“That’s rubbish (that Walters might be sacked)," Tallis said. "He was three minutes away from winning a premiership (in 2023), his job is not under the pump. The whole place is and the players are. The players are the ones who own their performance.
“It’s just the players. They need some new faces at training and they need to harden up. When you talk to blokes who are super successful and at the great clubs, their highest paid, their captain, their best players are usually their best trainers. They have to take some ownership.”

During his on-air tirade, Martin questioned Walters' coaching ability, while also saying the players are too busy worrying about social media. “These poncy rock stars that are at the Broncos, they need a kick up the a**,” Martin said. “But no-one is prepared to give it to them because Kevvie isn’t tough enough on people.
“No-one is saying this because the media is littered with Kevin’s friends. OK, he is a great bloke, he is funny, fun and everything. I played league until I was 16. I have half an idea, but geez there appears to be troubles in terms of coaching at the Broncos.
“Social media has become a bigger part of the Broncos than defensive efforts. You need someone to tell you some tough news. The Broncos need to put their foot down. The other day I jokingly called for Kevvie’s head but something has to change ... whether they get someone else.
“I don’t like confrontation myself so I make everything a laugh. That’s what Kevvie does ... it’s all fun and games, well it’s not fun and games now. Someone has to be tough and strong and the Broncos don’t have anyone to do it. I bet if Ben Ikin (former Broncos football boss) was there ... I bet he would step in.”
