Chart: How much you earn based on job type and gender

The median weekly earnings across all Australia was $1,066 in 2018, but the male full-time workers were likely to take home closer to $1,400 a week.

One quarter of Australians took home less than $680 a week, while 75 per cent earned less than $1,578.

The top 10 per cent earned more than $2,228 a week.

This is how much we earned a week across gender and job type.

Interestingly, women working part time tended to earn more than their male counterparts, taking home $550 compared to $480. Women’s median hourly rate in part-time work was $27.50 to men’s $25.30.

However, when it comes to full-time work, men were earning an extra $171 a week ($1,400).
