Victoria Beckham look effortlessly stylish in a lime green midi dress for the Vogue's Forces of Fashion event in New York City yesterday (16 October).

Known for her beautiful monochrome looks and neutral outfits, we were pleasantly surprised to see the Spice Girls star and fashion designer wearing a zingy number for the occasion.

Opting for a statement colour blocking moment wearing lime green and bright red, the star was seen donning one of her brand's signature maxi dresses that feature a low-cut neckline and a flattering fit and flare skirt finish.

To style her zesty look, the former singer paired her green dress with statement chilli-red coloured stilettos and a pair of her classic black sunglasses.

With lime green being one of the most daring and eye-catching shades to wear, Victoria shows how this fresh and sophisticated tone of green can look fabulous when styled correctly at this time of year.

While many of us are leaning towards those darker, earthier tones in autumn/winter, particularly burgundy, lime green is differently here to brighten up your wardrobe.

Lime green will always have this strident effect, so when it comes to pairing it with other colours, it can seem intimidating.

For a winning formula this autumn, first try pairing it with your existing neutrals in your closet - think beige or white wide-leg trousers, skirts or accessories.

The neutral base will give the lime green an elegant feel, so it doesn't feel as bold, while still letting it be the star of the show.

Or if you want to go for a more eye-catching outfit, try red accessories like Victoria Beckham, or alternatively try styling it with purple.

The perfect tandem of colours, purple and green work beautifully together and will create outfits that are full of life and definitely won't go unoticed!
