Twinning Sienna Miller and daughter Marlowe prove the 'midi coat' is a style staple for any age
We love a mother-daughter duo, especially when they're as stylish as Sienna Miller and her daughter Marlowe, who stepped out in twinning looks for a recent event together. Both put their own spin their looks with a 'midi coat', proving the piece is a style staple at any age.
Sienna was supporting her sister, Savannah Miller's Bridal Ballerina Breakfast at the Four Seasons Tower Bridge in London, and brought her 12 year old daughter Marlowe along with her.
The pair opted for co-ordinating looks - a shirt, slouchy jeans and ballerina flats - but put their own stamp on their looks. The piece-de-resistance of each of their ensembles, however, was a 'midi coat'.
In Sienna's cast, she went for a double denim look, pairing a single-breasted, long-line blue denim jacket over jeans. Including a flavour of he trademark boho style, she added a patterned shirt and statement tan leather belt.
Marlowe, on the other hand, wore an oversized, double breasted midi coat which she wore with a crisp white shirt. Leaving the shirt untucked helps the look feel more casual, while her bright red patent handbag adds a pop of colour to the muted tones to the rest of the look.
A midi coat is the perfect wardrobe staple to throw over almost any look for a more 'dressed up' feel. There are plenty of options for similar longline jackets on the high street which are ideal as we transition into spring as they're a little lighter than their autumnal equivalents. Think elongated suit jackets or classic trench coats in terms of cut.
