Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones has shared an insight into how JB Gill's training will be going now that Amy Dowden has confirmed she will not be performing this weekend. After performing on Saturday night, Amy became unwell and an ambulance was called "as a precaution".

Presenter Gethin Jones paused the show to ask Neil Jones for an update on Amy and JB's training. He said: “We know now that Amy Dowden won't be dancing with JB Gill at the weekend as she recovers. We of course wish Amy well with her recovery.”

He added: "We also know that Lauren Oakley, who we see all the time with Strictly fitness is going to step in. You are all one big family on Strictly so I imagine it won't be that disruptive to JB?"

Neil Jones then spoke about two weeks he had to miss when he was competing with Alex Scott due to an injury, back in 2019. While Kevin Clifton took over while he was injured, Neil explained that he was still heavily involved in the training process.

He said: "The whole time, all of us pro get involved so we're always there for our partners. I was still there rehearsing - not dancing but I was still in the room. So that could be happening now [with Amy]. It's going to be good for JB and great for Amy. He's in safe hands with Lauren."
