Eagle-eyed Strictly Come Dancing fans spotted an extra dancer as the show opened this week, with many confused as to why they were brought in. It was Movie Week on the BBC dancing competition this week, with everyone getting dressed up for the occasion as different movie characters, while the show opened with a Despicable Me-themed dance with all of the professionals.

However, many fans noticed one dancer on stage who wasn't one of the show's usual professionals, prompting questions of who they are. Discussing the new arrival on social media, one fan observed: "Think he must be an extra dancer as some I don't recognise." While others thought it may have been professional Gorka Marquez, one user cleared up: "No, he was a specialist acrobatic dancer," as they explained that it was mentioned on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two.

The Strictly cast - which sadly saw Nick Knowles sit out this week due to injury - transformed into some of the biggest stars in film on Saturday night, with Tasha Ghouri topping the leaderboard with her Rumba to What Was I Made For from Barbie. Getting into character, the former Love Island star made a picture-perfect Barbie while her partner Aljaz Škorjanec swapped his dark locks for a bright blonde wig to play Ken.

Sarah Hadland followed behind with 33 points out of a possible 40 after her Viennese Waltz to Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter. Unfortunately, singer Toyah Willcox found herself at the bottom of the leaderboard once again with her Samba to The Little Mermaid's Poor Unfortunate Souls.

And proving that nothing gets past Strictly fans, the extra dancer wasn't the only thing that had them talking, as many also pointed out the peculiar lighting behind the judges' panel, which left some audience members' legs on show.

One viewer wrote on FaceBook: "How weird do these legs look behind the judges?" alongside emojis of a monkey covering its face and two laughing faces. Others were quick to comment on the photo, with one writing: "Very distracting."

Meanwhile, another fan highlighted that they had never noticed it before. "They have never been there before!!!" they wrote, while another viewer said: "I was thinking the same myself tonight, let's hope they remember to keep them like that for the entire show."

"Yes I noticed them right away," one fan commented, while another said: "I'm glad someone else thinks the same!"
