Strictly Come Dancing horror as Gorka Marquez turns nasty after taking on judging role
Strictly Come Dancing pro Gorka Marquez is best known to viewers as a loveable dancer but in the Spanish version of the show he's a judge who really does not hold back with his criticism - to the point that one star stormed off set after he scored them a two. The dancer opened up about his role on Bailando Con Las Estrellas (Dancing With The Stars).
Speaking about Gorka’s new role during Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, fellow professional dancer Kai Widdrington told viewers: "Earlier this year, Spain relaunched Bailando Con Las Estrellas. It is hosted by Argentinian model Valeria Mazza and one of Spain's well-known presenters, Jesús Vázquez.
"There are not three, not four, but five judges, including Blanca Li, journalist and writer Boris Izaguire, director of musicals Julia Gomez Cora, Antonia Dell'ate, and the fifth judge, I think you may recognise - it's our very own Gorka Marquez."

However, viewers may see a different side to the star as he opened up about one 'savage' moment. He gave celebrity participant Athenea a score of two out of ten, leading to them walking off stage and refusing to be filmed. She did return for the second half of the show.
In a clip from the show, Gorka could be heard saying in Spanish: "Where do I start? I'm a little speechless, and not because it was good. It's more bad than good," then explaining the celebrity was 'livid' about his low score.
After the episode of It Takes Two aired, fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter to express their shock that Gorka had taken on another role without them knowing. One penned: “Gorka's a judge in Spain? Why did I not know that?”
Gorka, who has two children with Gemma Atkinson then gushed about his time on the show, as he said: “I absolutely love it, I learned a lot that I can take with me as a professional now and to help the celebrities. I know what the judges want to see," he revealed. Gorka then reflected on the huge difference between the UK and Spanish versions of the show, explaining it was on from 10pm-2am in the morning.
It’s been a busy few months for Gorka who took part in the 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing as he was partnered up with TV GP Dr Punam Krishan. The dancing couple wowed with their performances, making history with the first ever Bollywood dance in couples choice week.
Unfortunately the glitter ball wasn’t meant to be for the pair as they became the fifth couple to be eliminated from the competition, performing a tango to Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams. The couple lost in a Halloween dance of with Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu in a show stopping special.
After her elimination, Punam told BBC Scotland: "It’s brought lots of joy to consultations, I think people forget that as doctors, as healthcare professionals we are under so much pressure in the NHS but we are also people.
"It has been nice for my patients to see another side to me, we’re not just those serious people who sit at the other side of the consultation table."
