Sienna Miller just wore leather trousers, and now I need a pair

When Sienna Miller decides that a nostalgic wardrobe staple deserves another spin in the fashion spotlight, team Red take note and promptly jump on her bandwagon (not because we're sheep, but because she always looks so good that it's very easy to convince us). First came the boho revival, led by Chemena Kamali's Chloé, and now, the model and actress has brought back leather trousers.

Sienna was photographed attending a celebration of Dune: Part Two in London on Monday (14 October), where she was joined by her partner Oli Green. She had teamed her leather trousers (in classic rock'n'roll black) with a boho-style Louis Vuitton knit and some block-heel sandals. For accessories, she wore a gold and cream choker necklace and a big-buckle belt and carried a grey top-handle bag.

Leather trousers look set to become a fashion-editor favourite once more when the spring/summer 2025 collections drop next year. They featured on many a runway during the latest Fashion Month, most notably in oversized cuts. So if, like me, you fear the return of the clingy, skinny look that famously caused havoc for Ross from Friends, fear not.

Leather in general is the fabric of the moment, with the cool-girl leather bomber jacket proving particularly popular this season (as seen on model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at Paris Fashion Week). Our fashion editor showed us how to wear her three key leather pieces – the bomber, Bermuda shorts and any length of skirt – in a recent styling guide. But our biggest tip for making the trend feel more elevated this time around? Clash your textures, just like Sienna did above.

If you're ready to splash out on a pair of leather trousers to love forever, our editor-in-chief Sarah has included some & Other Stories gems in her latest high-street edit. 'Expensive but a classic and universally flattering shape,' she said. So, after three stylish women have convinced me, I'm adding those straight to basket now...

Of course, you can also opt for more affordable faux leather, too – the high street has many options to choose from that won't break the bank if you're not ready to invest in real leather (or prefer not to).
