Sarah Ferguson praises Princess Eugenie and Jack for being 'beautiful parents'
Sarah Ferguson has said she is "so proud" of her daughter and son-in-law after they welcomed their first son, August.
Speaking ahead of the release of her first novel, Her Heart for a Compass, she shared a glimpse of life in the Royal Lodge, where she lives with Prince Andrew, her former husband.
Her daughter Princess Eugenie is understood to be living nearby in Frogmore Cottage, the Windsor home which was given to Harry and Meghan when they married in 2018.
Ferguson told People: "When little August, my grandson, comes in to see me, and now it's slightly easier, I firstly look at my wonderful and beautiful daughter Eugenie and Jack.
"I am so proud of them as parents.
"I've known Jack for 10-12 years now, so he's like my son, he is my son-in-law, but he's like my son.

"I adore them both. To see Eugenie and Jack being beautiful parents of little August, I'm really proud.

She added: "I am deeply proud to be a grandmother, but I am a grandmother to many many many many many children and my children have donated me to be a grandmother.
"That's why I do Storytime with Fergie and Friends. That's my time with children who are maybe in a cancer ward, no one has seen them, but they can turn on YouTube, and there's Fergie."
Ferguson was married to Andrew, the Duke of York, from 1986 to 1992.
Despite their divorce, she said she and the duke remain great "co-parents".
The duke stepped back from royal duties in November 2019 after a disastrous interview with BBC Newsnight.
Ferguson, who is still titled the Duchess of York, has worked since her divorce, writing children's books, memoirs and working for Weight Watchers in the US.

This is her first novel, and is based on her ancestor, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.
She previously said: "It all started with researching my ancestry. Digging into the history of the Montagu-Douglas Scotts, I first came across Lady Margaret, who intrigued me because she shared one of my given names.
"But although her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch, were close friends with Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, I was unable to discover much about my namesake’s early life, and so was born the idea which became Her Heart For A Compass.
“With real historical events and facts to hand, my imagination took over. I invented a history for her that incorporated real people and events, including some of my other ancestors."
Ferguson’s novel will be released on 3 August in the UK and the US.
