Sainsbury's release heartwarming Christmas 2024 advert with famous children's character
The festive spirits are soaring as Sainsbury's unveils their 2024 Christmas TV advert, complete with a surprise appearance from a cherished children's character.
Its that magical time of year once again as the air is colder and the eagerly awaited Christmas adverts begin gracing TV screens. Sainsbury's has just dropped their latest festive promo and it's a heart-warmer set to stir all the emotions.
The ad sees two beloved friends on an enchanting quest along with mouth-watering seasonal delights from Sainsbury's and topped with narration by none other than Stephen Fry at the end of the advert.
In a first, the festive special features a real-life Sainsbury's employee named 'Sophie', who shares the scene with the beloved Big Friendly Giant - the BFG.
Drawing inspiration from Roald Dahl's classic story, Sophie and the BFG embark on a delightful food-filled adventure.
The journey begins with the iconic figure in his abode making a meal of snozzcumbers and questioning how to add a "Phizz-whizzing" touch to this year's festivities, courtesy of Sainsbury's advice.

A dramatic sneeze from the BFG at the store's car park punctuated by alerting car alarms marks his grand entrance, upon which Sophie realises this giant could use a bit of Sainsbury's sparkle.
Together, they set forth across the nation, with Sophie tucked in his colossal bag, ready for their whimsical voyage. The pair embark on a quest for delicious food, sourcing fresh ingredients like salmon, Brussels sprouts and Stilton cheese from Sainsbury's trusted suppliers.
After their adventure, they return to the BFG's dream cave where he arranges all the food they've gathered. He then magically transforms these ingredients into meals and sets off to deliver a festive feast to one lucky family.
The advert wraps up with Sophie and the BFG exchanging Christmas wishes as Stephen Fry's voice-over prompts: "Want to go big this Christmas? Ask Sainsbury's. Good Food for all of us".
Coronation Street viewers will be the first to see it on TV when the 60-second clip airs during Friday evening's ad break.
This Christmas advert marks the second year of Sainsbury's pledge to provide 'Good food for all of us', ensuring access to innovative, affordable and tasty food for every customer.
Emma Bisley, Head of Campaigns at Sainsbury's, shared her excitement about the festive advert: "The festive season is about making wonderful memories, and we're here to help our customers create a truly unforgettable Christmas with family and friends, especially when it comes to food.
"At Sainsbury's, providing good food for all of us is at the heart of everything we do. We want to offer a diverse range of high-quality food products suitable for any occasion, whether customers are looking for new holiday delights or classic festive favourites, Sainsbury's has something to satisfy every taste and budget through this year's Christmas range.
"Collaborating with the Roald Dahl Story Company this year was a remarkable opportunity to tap into the nostalgia and heartwarming spirit that the BFG embodies and hope that this advert captures the nation's hearts and fills them with joy."
Natalie Hopkins, Director of Global Product and Partnerships at the Roald Dahl Story Company, also commented on the collaboration, expressing their hopes for the holiday season: "The BFG is perfect for Sainsbury's mission to create a Big Christmas for all.
"Having only snozzcumbers to devour in Giant Country, his curiosity for good food leads to an adventure of discovery and wonderment with Sainsbury's Sophie in order to bring the magic of Christmas to everyone."
