Royal Wedding highlights: Best moments from Meghan and Harry's big day, revisited
The royal wedding was one of the most talked-about events of 2018.
People from all over the world watched as Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.
It was built up to be a big day – and it didn’t disappoint. While the guest list didn’t include prime ministers, presidents and foreign royals (it wasn’t a state wedding, like William and Harry’s), some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry attended including Elton John, Idris Elba and the Clooneys.
But it wasn’t just the celebrity arrivals that had us hooked; from Bishop Curry’s speech to Charlotte’s ridiculously sweet wave, multiple moments made the day one that we’ll remember for years to come.
Amal Clooney’s starry arrival
The world went wild for the 40-year-old barrister’s arrival. Decked out in one of the best wedding guest outfits of all time – bravo, Stella McCartney – Amal gave the bride a run for her money in the canary yellow ensemble.
A matching hat, complete with net veil, by British milliner Stephen Jones completed the look.

Elton John licks his lips after meeting David Beckham
The legendary singer went viral after being caught licking his lips post David Beckham embrace. The musician, 71, attended the event with his husband David Furnish, 55.
Meghan Markle’s wedding dress reveal
After months of speculation over the designer, the bride arrived at St. George’s Chapel in her dress: A minimal, off-the-shoulder gown by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. Paired with a cascading, 15-foot veil embroidered with florals representing the 53 Commonwealth nations, the dress was both a sartorial and diplomatic win.
However, the fit of the dress didn’t please everyone.
Meghan calms Harry’s nerves mid-service
Prince Harry was clearly nervous during his wedding. But, a subtle – and incredibly sweet – mid-service moment helped soothe him.
Perhaps sensing her new husband’s nerves, Meghan reached over and gave his hand a squeeze during Bishop Michael Curry’s sermon – a moment that, fortunately, was captured on camera.
Royal reactions to Bishop Curry’s invigorating sermon
Michael Curry’s royal wedding sermon will likely go down in history. The African-American leader of the US Episcopal church didn’t tone down his passionate message on love, which resulted in some amusing reactions from the Royal Family.
Prince Charles holds Doria as they exit the chapel
Charles proved he wanted to make Doria feel like one of the family throughout the big day. He was caught on camera grasping Meghan’s mother’s hands as he welcomed her inside the chapel and he held onto her arm as they walked out following the service.
Both gestures were, no doubt, of huge comfort to the then-61-year-old, who flew solo at the service without any of her family or friends.
The kiss
We had to include the couple’s kiss, which took place on the steps of St. George’s Chapel.
Princess Charlotte’s adorable wave
She may have only just turned three, but Princess Charlotte proved she’s got this royal thing down when her enthusiastic wave.
The daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took a moment to acknowledge her subjects on the steps of the chapel, following the service.
The newlyweds’ Hollywood moment
Just when we thought the royal wedding couldn’t get any better, the newlyweds exited Windsor Castle in new outfits: a halterneck Stella McCartney for Meghan and a slick, James Bond inspired tux for Harry.
The pair hopped into an electric Jaguar, which Harry drove to nearby Frogmore House for their wedding reception.
