Heidi Klum's 2024 Halloween costume as giant E.T. is truly terrifying
True to form, Heidi Klum started prepping her Halloween costume very early this year. Specifically, more than eight weeks in advance. Not that we'd expect anything less from the official reigning queen of spooky szn. (I mean, she may not have a crown, but no A-lister can claim her title.) And, now that we've seen her 2024 costume, we understand why...
As well as hosting her annual Halloween Party again (this year's event marked the 23rd annual party!), the German supermodel brought fans along with her as she got ready for the evening's festivities. Far be it from Heidi to throw on a shop-bought costume and some Halloween makeup, the full-body prosthetics involved in her look are akin to that of a movie film set. And this year, Heidi roped in her husband, German musician Tom Kaulitz, for a truly terrifying couples' costume with the duo both dressing up as E.T.
Recreating the alien from Steven Spielberg’s 1982 classic, Heidi's E.T. wore a bowler hat, scarf and shawl as in one scene from the film. The costume also featured a motorized headpiece with moving eyes and mouth, plus a glowing fingertip.
So she could actually move around and enjoy the party, Heidi eventually ditched the bodysuit for an oversized t-shirt printed with the alien's face, fishnet tights and OTK black boots. She did however keep the face face prosthetics on, resulting in possibly an even more terrifying costume.
The rest of Heidi's family also got in on the ‘out of this world’ theme, with the supermodel's daughter Leni dressing up as another alien in a silver ensemble.
In previous years, we've seen Heidi dress up as a peacock complete with Cirque de Soleil plumage in 2023, a giant and disgusting worm in 2022, a terrifying zombie as part of an elaborate home movie production in 2021 – when the Covid-19 pandemic forced her annual Halloween bash to be put on hold – and who can forget her alien scientific experiment in 2019?
With such elaborate costumes, it's no wonder she needs a lead time of well over two months to ensure she's ready come October 31st. But, as per usual, she pulled it off again. Happy Heidi-ween to the queen of spooky szn!
