Is Princess Beatrice's wedding off? Sarah Ferguson says it's postponed as coronavirus pandemic continues
Princess Beatrice has never been happier as with her fiancé according to her mother, Sarah Ferguson.
The Duchess of York, best known as Fergie, said it was a dream come true for her daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, to have met their partners.
Eugenie, 30, married her husband Jack Brooksbank in Windsor in October 2018, and Beatrice is set to marry her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in May this year.
Speaking to Royal Central, Ferguson, 60, said: “I have never seen Beatrice as happy as she is right now with Edo. It’s a dream come true for me to have acquired two new members of the family in Jack and Edo.”
But 31-year-old Beatrice’s wedding plans have been thrown into disarray by the coronavirus pandemic.
It was announced that she and Mozzi, 36, would postpone the reception in Buckingham Palace because of the government advice to avoid mass gatherings.

However after the couple made that decision, the government made the decision to ban weddings too, saying funerals were the only public events which could continue.
There has not been another announcement about the plans, but Ferguson confirmed to Royal Central “Princess Beatrice’s wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, planned for 29 May, has been postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic”.
It’s not clear if this means the couple has opted to postpone their ceremony as well, or if she was just referring to the reception.
Yahoo UK has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
Princess Beatrice’s wedding was already somewhat overshadowed by her father’s headline grabbing friendship with the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew gave a disastrous interview with BBC Newsnight in which he said he did not regret being friends with Epstein - who killed himself in prison while awaiting trial for sexual offences.
He stepped back from royal duties in November last year, and since then, Beatrice announced plans for a wedding on a much smaller scale than her sister’s grand Windsor affair.

However, the coronavirus pandemic has caused her more problems. The couple had intended to hold their reception in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, where they could use the marquees put up for the Queen’s annual garden parties.
But the Queen was forced to cancel those this year, to follow the government’s guidelines on mass gatherings.

The engaged couple then had to postpone the reception as well, but Church of England guidelines at that time suggested they could have a wedding - with five people in total there.
Beatrice’s sister Eugenie and her mother have been working to help people during the coronavirus crisis, getting food parcels to people in need and key workers in hospitals.
Documenting their work on Instagram, Ferguson showed how they had been sending fruit and vegetable boxes to people working in Hammersmith Hospital, in west London.
Eugenie shared the same pictures on her Instagram stories, indicating the pair may be living together at this time.
