The Prince and Princess of Wales' own dog is a spaniel called Orla, and was given to them by James Middleton - Kate's brother - in 2020. The couple previously had another black spaniel called Lupo, who they got as a puppy at the beginning of their marriage, but which sadly passed away four years ago.

Do you let your pet sleep on your bed? While it might be cosy, GH's Household Advice Editor Katie Mortram has a word of warning.

"If you let your into your bed, any residue and bacteria they've picked up from the outdoors will be transferred to your sheets - including potential fleas!" she says. "Even if you make the effort to bathe your pet before bedtime, they will still secrete drool, oils and other residue in the night."

But if you can't bear to be parted from your pup, Katie has some advice for making the most of the situation: "Give your pet their own dedicated bed instead or if you want to let them onto the bed, give them a blanket to sleep on which you can wash separately; this will save you from needing to wash the sheets so often!"
