Eagle-eyed Prince William fans have spotted an adorable bracelet on his wrist as he visits South Africa. The Prince of Wales was seen wearing a home-made friendship bracelet with the word ‘Papa’ written on it as he attended a series of outings in Cape Town.

The blue and green bracelet features the adorable name his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis refer to their father as. The reference was mentioned in their special message to their dad during Father’s Day this year and on his 42nd birthday just days later. The tribute saw his wife Kate Middleton share a new photo of the Prince with his three children.

"We love you, Papa. Happy Father’s Day G, C & L," the caption of the photo read, which marked the first time a social media post had been signed off by the royal siblings.

It was revealed William’s children called him ‘Papa’ on Mother’s Day in 2021, as Kensington Palace released cards that William and Kate's children wrote to their late grandmother, Princess Diana. "I am thinking of you on Mother's Day. I love you very much," Princess Charlotte wrote in the card. "Papa is missing you. Lots of love."

William was spotted wearing the cute accessory as he met with more than 120 young leaders at the Earthshot Prize Climate Leaders Youth Program. It could be seen on his wrist once again when he played rugby at a nearby secondary school.

William’s children are also known to be fans of the ‘Taylor Swift inspired’ friendship bracelets. The family were seen at the stars Eras Tour in London earlier this year as they posed for pictures with the pop icon.

In September, the Prince shared a hilarious story of his youngest Louis trying to steal his older sister Charlotte’s friendship bracelet. As he visited a primary school in Wales, William was sweetly gifted a friendship bracelet from one of the pupils.

“That's so sweet,” William said, after carefully unwrapping them. “Did you build them at home? Did you put them together yourself?” he questioned.

The Prince then shared insight into his family life, by joking: “I'll keep them away from Louis because he'll try and steal all his sister's bits. Thank you so much Ruby. They're going to love those, you'll see them out and about."

Prince George has also been seen wearing friendship bracelets, pairing it with a smart suit when he attended the Euro 2024 final between Spain and England which saw the Three Lions in a heartbreaking loss.
