Prince Louis, 5, applauded for 'impeccable behaviour' during two-hour coronation ceremony

Prince Louis has been applauded for his "impeccable behaviour" during King Charles’s coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

The youngest child of Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales is just five years old and while he didn't stay for the entire duration of the two-hour service, he has been praised by fans online for lasting as long as he did.

After sitting through the first chunk of the service, the young prince took a break from the formalities and left his seat to be entertained behind the scenes by aides as the service continues.

He returned to his seat as the ceremony came to a close, reuniting with his parents and sister.

The Wales family then travelled to Buckingham Palace together in a carriage as part of the grand coronation procession.

Earlier in the proceedings Louis was seen fidgeting - as any young child would - during the service.

During the first half of the ceremony, he could be seen letting out a big yawn, while also taking the opportunity to point out something of interest to his sister, Princess Charlotte.

Fans were also watchful about whether the young Prince would last the entire of the duration, with one Twitter user spotting his removal and joking whether Louis was "under Charles' robe now?".

But generally fans were impressed with the youngster's excellent behaviour, with many praising the royal on social media.

"Prince Louis definitely getting a pack of Haribo for good behaviour," one wrote on Twitter.

"Impeccable behaviour from Prince Louis," another added.

"Wondering what they bribed prince louis with because he is on his best behaviour today, no way my almost 5 year old would be sitting through this," another praised.

"Supreme lack of entertaining louis behaviour, he hasn’t attempted to assault either of his parents even once yet," another fan joked.

Earlier this morning Louis arrived alongside his sister Princess Charlotte and his parents.

Louis was regally dressed in a Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin Tunic with specially designed lace work embellishment to the collar, cuffs and fronts, made by bespoke Savile Row tailors Dege and Skinner.

Prince George arrived separately as he acted as a page of honour for his grandfather.

His Majesty's eldest grandson, George, nine, who is second in line to the throne, held the King's robes as the procession walked down the aisle of Westminster Abbey.

Louis has form in keeping fans entertained during official royal occasions, having delighted crowds at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year with his facial expressions and mischievous behaviour.

He was seen letting out an elaborate howl and clapping his hands over his ears on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the Platinum Jubilee flypast as his grandmother the late Queen kept him informated about what was happening.

The now-fourth-in-line to the throne was also spotted bouncing on the knee of his grandfather, now King Charles, during the Jubilee pageant and giving his mum a cuddle and kiss on the cheek.

He also stood on his chair, waved his hands enthusiastically in the air and stuck his finger in his ear during the show.

So of course, social media was excited to see the arrival of the young prince on his grandfather's big day.

"Let the absolute CARNAGE begin," one fan wrote on Twitter.

"Can Prince Louis hold up for 2+ hours?" another wondered.

"Prince Louis is my favourite royal," another commented after the youngsters appearance at the event.
